I’m a mice freak (and yes, I am talking about computers)

    Logitech G7

Discard all the doubts you are having on wether it is correct to still use the plural “mice” when referring to more than one computer mouse and read on.

Every 4-5 months, I feel the irresistible urge to buy a new mouse.

I’ve got more mice than I’ll ever need. Hell, I have more mice than computers (and I have A LOT of computers).

I don’t know what drives me so crazy about them. I guess it’s the eternal struggle for the perfect performance and comfort.
And it seemed like I had found the holy grail when I got my Logitech G7 mouse. Brilliant mouse, let me tell you.
If only it wasn’t for the fact that a few months later I also purchased the Z-5450 Wireless speaker 5.1 system, which works at the same frequency as the G7 and completely killed its usability: with the speakers turned on it jumps and stutters like if Mohammed Ali were using it.

    I’m back to the MX1000.

So now, moral of the story, it’s that time of the year again. I am looking to buy a mouse. There is no way I could ever justify such a purchase, but I want one.

Maybe the G5 (pretty much the corded version of the G7) may be my next victim..

I want to stop thinking about it and just call this new site something stupid..

The Burning Crusade; or how to waste a lifetime

    The Burning Crusade

I am really tempted to try the new World of Warcraft expansion.

I heard a lot of people say it is remarkable.

But the truth is, if I get it, I’m going to be spiraling down into deep unproductivity. Although, I must say, I haven’t been very productive either without the game, so that probably would serve me well, if taken in moderation, to relax a bit during my pauses..

It’s strange: I seem to grow uninterested with pretty much everything these days. Got myself a Wii, played it quite a bit and now it’s been like 2 weeks since I last touched it.

Oh well, I’ll give TBC a shot, anyway..
I will play on Burning Legion EU. If you’re there, shoot a /w to Archaic. See you on the other side!

I look like everyone you know

I’ve always thought that Asimov looked a lot like my grandfather (who looks a lot like me). So, after the previous post, I started messing with Photoshop and.. I got a bit carried away. The thing is that a lot of people think I look like someone. This is probably the first installment of an egocentric series of posts. Comment with suggestions for future look-a-likes (or just send me a pic)!

    Isaac Asimov
    Asimov's Heir?

This Asimov one doesn’t look too good, after working with the others, actually..

    Fabio Quagliarella
    Quagliarella's Brother?

A good italian football player. My friends say I look like him in the b/w picture to the right.

I got told I look like Johnny Depp too a few times in the past (I used to have long hair). Although I think I look nothing like him, I couldn’t miss the chance to impersonate a pirate, virtually the coolest thing on earth.

    Cristiano the Pirate YARR!

    YARR! Ahoy Mateys!

    A yearful of work ahead

That’s what 2007 will be for me.

And by “work” I mean the good stuff; things which require effort but of which I am deeply fond.

There are a couple of things which are occupying my time lately: that tool of the devil which is my Wii (Zelda, to be more specific) and the british TV series “Man vs Wild”, in which a guy from the special forces gets parachuted in the middle of nowhere with just a knife and a flint.

The latter really impressed me, especially because of the recent death of James Kim, senior editor at Cnet.com, who got stranded with his family and died in a forest somewhere.

Living in our society, one can easily forget how hard it is to find himself a dinner. Can’t he?

    New Year’s Eve in London

We did go to London for New Year’s Eve and, boy, what a trip it was!

Of course, due to my passion for the Beatles, the Abbey Road picture was mandatory.

For your viewing pleasure, here are a couple shots:

    Social networking gone wrong

I read a very interesting article some moments ago. It is a very good analisys of the social networking madness which is taking over the web. Or better, Web 2.0 (hell, I am so tired of this term. Aren’t you?).
I really believe there are some golden nuggets in there. Only time will tell, but I think it predicts some of the turns the Internet will take.

Read it through. For now, I’ll make sure to subscribe to that guy’s feed! :)

Edit: On a side (and quite funny) note, I found the article itself on Digg.com, a very popular social networking site.

      Hello Christiano!

You might remember me from London, or at least I hope you do. Andrea gave me this site to look at – pretty good, I liked your blog on webcam. Although was scared as to how you got a view of what I see through my window. I don’t even have a webcam. Very scared. : )

I hope Andrea passes on my photos to you. If he hasn’t I can send them to you directly. Or if he has, I can send you any photos you want in better resolution (each photo is ~2.5 Mb). I was hoping you wouldn’t mind sending me the few you took that day when you have time…

All the best with your exams,

      Peter

    Excerpt from my Book

I am currently writing a book, amongst the other things.

I am writing it in italian and it’s a fantasy book. I am inventing a whole different fantasy world into which I can… well, pretty much put anything I want.

There aren’t gonna be elves or orcs and stuff like that but probably only humans: some capable of incredible magery, some very strong and brave in battle.

I translated a little excerpt for your reading pleasure (or disgust). Please take the time to comment and tell me how you like it.

Now that he was free, alone and that the only job he had to do was finding something to eat for the day, he read continously that relic of his, listening to the sweet crackling of the old pages, always with the same excitement of the first time. He knew it entirely by heart, and often on his heart would the book still lie when he’d fall asleep.
William would dream of the weapons, and the heroic deeds of the knight, knowing inside that someday he would have taken part to that life of honor and courage.
